The Freight Allocator allows you quickly and easily add inbound freight, import fees, customs or other cost to an existing bill in QuickBooks. After the allocation, inventory is recorded at "landed" cost instead of just the purchase cost at the source
The program allocates freight or other cost to each item on a bill and can optionally add cost to expense accounts on a bill. The total bill amount is not changed and the cost added to items is offset to a user entered account such as freight clearing.
Freight amounts are allocated to items based on extended dollar amounts or quantities but each row on bills has an allocation factor than can be used to compensate for high weigth/low cost items or vice/versa.
